Zee TV celebrates Woman's Week

Zee TV is offering every woman in Mumbai a slew of discounts, concessions and freebies during the ‘Jhansi Ki Rani - Celebration of the Spirit of Womanhood’ week.

For over a year now, Zee TV’s historical drama ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’ has been bringing millions of viewers across the country the inspiring story of Rani Laxmibai, one of the most formidable freedom fighters India has seen. The show has reached the most critical juncture where the Rani puts her foot down against British dominion and wages what went on to become the first war of Indian Independence.

With the show entering its most exciting war phase, the channel is creating a notable buzz around the highpoint in the show. Zee TV has embarked on a marketing campaign bound to put a smile on women’s faces. As a celebration of the spirit of womanhood, the channel is offering women across Mumbai a slew of discounts, concessions and freebies as they go through the rigors of life each day of this week.

On Monday, January 24, women across Mumbai commuted within the city free of cost as Zee TV’s volunteers paid their ticket fare on all prominent bus and rail routes. On Tuesday, January 25, women got to avail of substantial discounts on treatments at prominent salons, including The Enrich Salon outlets across the city.

On January 26, women were treated to free movies at a host of multiplexes such as PVR, Fame Adlabs, Fun Cinemas, Cinemax and BIG Cinemas. On Thursday, January 27, it’s time for women to shop as they get discounts on grocery purchases at Apna Bazaar and Sahakari Bhandar outlets. On Friday, January 28, women visiting Uncle’s Kitchen (Malad), Hotel Radha Krishna (Andheri & Ghatkopar), Maharaja Kamat (Chembur), Gopala’s (Kanjurmarg), Aditya (Bhandup), and Hotel Navratna (Vashi), among other restaurants, will be able to avail of a discount of Rs 250.

Hmtv appoints ombudsman

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Media Television (Hmtv) has appointed senior journalist and journalism teacher G. S. Varadachari as its ombudsman (‘teerpari' in Telugu) with effect from January 1.
